Any personal information collected is only used by [Maplelatte Animal Shelter Society] for the purpose defined at the time of the collection or a use that complies with these purposes. We do not share your information with any third parties.

Media Consent

By adopting from our shelter, you consent to the use of photos, videos, or stories of you and your adopted pet for promotional, educational, and fundraising purposes. These materials may appear on our website, social media, or printed media. No compensation will be provided, and all content remains the property of the shelter.

POLICIES & PROCEDURES

[Maplelatte Animal Shelter Society] looks to find great matches for both our pets and potential adopters and may sometimes suggest a different dog or puppy that may be more suitable to your situation.

*Please note that the animals in our care have uncertain pasts. We do our best to guess at age/breed/size, but we can never be certain. We also cannot guarantee health or temperament.

You are required to provide three post-adoption updates on your adopted pet’s status:

After 1 week of adoption
After 1 month of adoption
After 6 months of adoption

These updates help us ensure your pet is adjusting well and receiving proper care.

VACCINATIONS/DEWORMING

[Maplelatte Animal Shelter Society] provides vaccinations for all animals due while in our care. The adoptive family is responsible for vaccinations and continued deworming that come due after the adoption is completed, which can include on-going treatment for minor ailments such as worms.

IF YOU HAVE DOGS AND/OR CATS

We strongly suggest slow introductions if you choose to welcome a new animal coming into your home.

ADOPTION FEE

Fees must be paid in full at adoption. While we ensure pets are healthy, future health or behaviour cannot be guaranteed.

NO SURRENDERING

As long as the adopted pet has a microchip registered with [Maplelatte Animal Shelter Society], it must be returned to us if you are unable to care for it.

Transportation

Transportation is provided free of charge within a 60 km radius of the shelter. For distances exceeding 60 km, an additional transportation fee of $50 will be added to the final adoption payment.
